At ARC Australia, David Stroud shared with us the fascinating story of Dr Thomas Arnold, whose work as the headmaster of Rugby School in the UK in the 1800s sparked a wave of reform that lifted the country's education system out of near-collapse.

Dr Arnold's innovative methods that sought to imbue students with both education and a sense of purpose were captured and proliferated throughout the education system through a network of senior leaders, and soon what started as one headteacher in one school became a 'revolution in education.'
